Last week I attended the Ales 4 ALS event at Faction Brewing in Alameda, CA. ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Loftus Ranch and Hopunion, of Yakima, WA, offered participating brewers a free batch of proprietary hop blend to make whatever beer they'd like, in exchange for being a part of the Ales 4 ALS fundraiser for ALS research. Over 2,000 people were in attendance and about 20 breweries pouring taster size portions of their unique beers. The shot I took here is my pour of Hopular Mechanics IPA by Beachwood Brewing. This was definitely one of the funnest events I've been to in awhile. A lot of really good people in great spirit for a good cause.
