My next assignment for Roaming Hunger was to feature a new truck on the scene. The only problem was, I couldn't find one! I kind of panicked since this was my first road block, while working for them. I went back to my editor and proposed a little spin on the topic. "What about a truck who recently opened their brick-and-mortar location?", I asked. "They may not be a new truck, but it's a new phase in their business." Permission granted! I had less than a week before my deadline but fortunately I was able to meet with James, the founder of Fist of Flour, score an interview and shoot some photos at the "Doughjo". The last 3 months have been pretty fun working on articles for Roaming Hunger. I've been able to hit food truck events, on a regular basis, eat great food and shoot photos. That's pretty much half my hobbies right there! I'm also getting the opportunity to meet some truly amazing people in the industry. It's a little intimidating, at times, since shooting photos is what I'm used to doing. Now I'm given the chance to express myself through words as well.Read more
